Welcome to Catsmusical.com. Here you can find information on Lord Andrew Lloyd-Webber's Musical masterpiece "Cats." The musical was written in 1981 and was based upon ghte poems of T. S. Eliot's classic "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats." The show was directed by Trevor Nunn and co-drected by Gillian Lynne, who was also the choreographer. John Napier designed the original sets and costumes. Cameron Mackintosh was the producer. The show first opened in the West End in 1981 at the New London Theatre followed by it's Broadway debut in 1982 at the Winter Garden Theatre.
